With over 35 years of experience in eye care, Dr. Wong is known for her patient-centred approach that prioritizes listening and clear communication. Patients appreciate that she takes the time to thoroughly explain their eye exam results in easy-to-understand terms, helping them feel confident about their vision health. She values punctuality and respects her patients’ time by keeping appointments on schedule.
Dr. Wong earned both her Doctorate of Optometry and Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo in 1998. Her passion for eye care started early, volunteering in the Department of Ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Hospital during high school and working as a receptionist in an optometry office. She completed training in ocular therapeutics and disease management at the Eye Foundation of Utah.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Wong has volunteered locally at Homeless Connect in Toronto and internationally at the Mully Children’s Family in Kenya, reflecting her dedication to accessible eye care for all.
Dr. Wong has a special interest in myopia management and children’s vision, but enjoys caring for patients of every age and stage of life. For Dr. Wong, one of the most rewarding moments is witnessing the joy when a patient, whether a child getting their first glasses or an adult needing reading lenses, experiences clear, comfortable vision for the first time.
Outside of work, Dr. Wong enjoys baking, knitting and playing pickleball. She looks forward to travelling with her husband now that her children are grown.
