Why Do I Need a Contact Lens Exam?
A contact lens prescription is different from a glasses prescription. Even if your glasses prescription is up to date, we recommend that you see us for a contact lens exam.
Contacts sit directly on the eye, so we need to take additional measurements to provide you with a safe, accurate fit. We’ll check the shape of your cornea, evaluate your tear film, and review how the lenses feel on your eyes.

What to Expect During a Contact Lens Exam & Fitting
A contact lens exam starts much like a regular eye exam, but with a few added steps. We’ll begin by checking your vision and overall eye health, measuring your corneal curvature, and assessing your tear film. If you’re new to contact lenses, we’ll guide you through the insertion and removal process to check you’re comfortable with lens care.
You’ll usually try on a pair of diagnostic lenses in the office so we can check the fit and make any necessary adjustments. It’s a collaborative process, and we’ll make sure you leave feeling confident, well-informed, and excited about your lenses.
Myopia Control for Children & Teens
For kids and teenagers with myopia (nearsightedness), we offer orthokeratology (ortho-k) lenses. These specialty contacts are worn overnight and gently reshape your child’s cornea while they sleep. In the morning, they wake up with clear vision, and no glasses or daytime lenses are needed.
Ortho-k is a noninvasive option for slowing the progression of myopia, which can help reduce the risk of eye health issues later in life. It’s a great solution for active kids or families looking for a glasses-free alternative.
In addition to ortho-k, we also offer specialty soft contact lenses, MiSight 1 Day lenses, or Abiliti 1 Day for myopia management.
Our Contact Lenses
When it comes to finding the right contact lenses, we take a thoughtful, step-by-step approach to determine what works for you. Our team always keeps your comfort, vision, and long-term eye health in mind.
If you have any questions about your options, please feel free to ask our team at your next visit.
If you’re starting to notice vision changes from presbyopia (age-related nearsightedness), multifocal contact lenses can help. These lenses provide a smooth transition between near, intermediate, and far vision, without the need for reading glasses.
We offer both soft and hard lens options depending on your lifestyle and preferences.
Gas permeable lenses are hard lenses that allow oxygen to pass through to the eye, making them a healthy and durable choice for many patients. Though they take a little time to get used to, gas-permeable lenses offer sharp and crisp vision.
They can be especially beneficial for people with astigmatism, high prescriptions, or corneal irregularities.
Not every eye fits the mould, and that’s okay. If you’ve struggled with contact lenses in the past due to astigmatism, presbyopia, or keratoconus, we offer a wide range of specialty lens options tailored to your needs.

Whether you’re new to contact lenses or exploring options beyond your current pair, we’re here to help you find a lens that truly fits your eyes, your routine, and your comfort level.
